    Pre-purchase questions

OK, the title says it all
I haven't got a Falcon yet, though I'm looking real close at a 66 coupe. What I found out today was that it has a 289, A/T, newer carb, P.S. pump and runs good(owners statement, haven't driven it yet).
Best part is that my wife is all for it. She likes the auto as she doesn't want to drive a stick anymore. Her biggest concern is if it is a "venturis".(one of her co-workers recommends staying away from that, something to do with the rear window).
I've tried to find some info about that but am stumped. Is this an option/trim package or is he confusing it with something else?

Any help, recommendations, opinions would be welcomed.

    Thanks, Steve

    "venturis"?

I have no idea what a "venturis" is, but tell your wife that a guy on the internet said that the back window of a 66 Falcon does not have them.

Have fun with your new 289 Falcon Coupe!

I used to have a "Ventura". It is the Pontiac version of the Chevy Nova. It was a fine car but not as popular as the Nova... so I guess the resale price would be less so that may be a concern for some.

    I'd go with ew1's answer.

Yeah, I think we're all stumped by that statement. I think the guy who made the statement needs to qualify his concern a little more. I'd be more concerned with roturis than I would be with venturis, though I may be speaking semantics at this point, since roturis usually causes venturis around the back window.

    Thanks guys.
He did tell her that he thought the venturis was a "low end" version. If that is what he was thinking, then it doesn't concern me too much as I plan to personalize it myself.

Ok, I went and drove the 66 yesterday. Drives pretty good, seat felt like an oversized couch, kind of sunk into it. Vinyl was in pretty good condition. Biggest concern were the front floor pans. One miss step and you had a set of Fred Flintstone brakes
I've tried searching for replacement pans on the web and only came up with ABS(auto body specialist). Theirs are $115 per side. Any other suggestions where to find these? or do I just weld some cross braces in and go with sheet metal?
    Thanks, Steve
