Tree vs. Falcon

I came home from work yesterday to find a branch had separated from my plumb tree. There was hundreds of plumbs weighing it down.

The branch is about eight inches in diameter where it left the tree... the main branch missed the drivers side by a few inches... some slight scratches on the already bogus paint job.

I think this falls into the "It could have been worse" category.

Man Jeff, Good thing you were not under that! FWIW, I've got a branch about 50' up in a tree already broken off and just hanging -- heavy-end down. I'm waiting for that to come down someday when I least expect it. Have pondered using a sling-shot to try snagging it or maybe a bow/arrow. It'll cost so much to have it removed... and so much if it falls through a windshield or hood.

Anyway, glad it wasn't worse.

Here are a few pictures that show how big the branch really is. The "model" is my youngest, Maeve (3). My oldest, Alma (8) was busy helping scrape plumb guts off the hood. I'll have a couple of jars of fresh Plumb Chutney for the next club raffle.

Roger, the guys in the tree business call those hangers "Widow-makers"... you got'ta get that down.:bicker:

I guess Pat, being our Club VP, should be ready to assume office.

That's just plum crazy! I would consider getting rid of that tree someday. Plant a nice shade tree in it's place...

Not sure the origin of it but it is an unusual Falcon picture. It looks illustrated.
