While cleaning up and repainting my '65's radiator to reinstall I read the following in the Shop Manual: "When a radiator that has been in use for some time is removed from a vehicle for repairs to the engine it should not be allowed to stand empty for any length of time, but should be immersed in a tank of water or otherwise kept full. Failure to observe this precaution may result in overheating when the engine is put back into service." My radiator was in use for over a year but has been out of service and empty for close to two years. Should I be worried? Or am I reading something into the above that probably should be of no concern. Anyhow it is something I have never heard before. Any advise
