Hello everyone,

Does anyone know who I can purchase a carburator rebuild kit from for my 1963 170ci 1 barrel manual choke carb?

Have you already gone to your local auto parts stores? I went to a local parts store over the summer who had to order it up from a warehouse 50 miles away, but it was there the next day. They are still readily found just about anywhere.

I know Kenny used rockauto.com a lot, but I honestly would attempt a local source for this particular item just in case it takes a couple tries to get the right one. Carbs, after 45 some-odd years are not guaranteed to be the ones that Ford put on from the factory.

At the very least get a brand/model off the carb (Holley, Carter, Autolite, etc) and look for any stamped numbers or tags that may still be attached to help the parts house narrow your search for the "right" kit.

Get any numbers or information from the carb you can. Ford usually has a little metal tag attached to the carb with numbers on it..

Schuck's O'rielly's carries carb kits in the Niehoff brand.. if you don't have good luck at one of the stores.. send me the information from your carb and I'll locate a part number for you..

I am glad when things turn out to be simpler then I exspect. I added some cleaner to my fuel with good results, but it must have over done it because the carb is now dripping. Oh well, I now have the opportunity to rebuild my carburator!

Two hours project if you don't run into snags... Just take your time adjusting the float - everything else it hard to screw up. Simple carbs.

I am feeling great!

Rebuilt the carb, installed 6 new plugs, a new distributor cap, rotor, and an Igniter 2 pointless ignition system. Got everything on, set up my timing, and oh man that little 170 came alive!

I just wanted to thank you guys for all of your advice and support. This 63 Falcon is the oldest car I have ever restored and I have found quit a few things that are different from the late sixties cars I am use to. Having you all to bounce my questions off of has really built me up.

Still waiting for my new leaf springs to come in.

Yeah, that Pertronix stuff is actually the biggest improvement you could have done (over the need for a carb to work right). I had some problems driving back from the Pacific Regional meet last summer (turned out to be a carb issue in the long run), but as I was limping back to Washington from Southern Oregon, trying things as I went, I converted back to points and condenser in a rest-stop along the freeway in just one futile attempt to zero in on the problem -- and it was like I shoved a potato in the exhaust or something. Since it didn't solve the problem, I put the Pertronix back in immediately. Had 600 miles more to go and there was no way I was driving a car with points AND fuel starvation! You made agood investment with that. I assure you of that.

i am over Atlantic so it is hard to find new or used carb for my 65.,200 CUI.
I need contact with some shop who send parts in Europe.

Sorry, I do not know of any shops you could pick up carb parts for a 65 for.
Do you have Ebay where you live? If you can get on Ebay sooner or later parts for or a whole carb for your car will come up.
Good luck with your car. Maybe some of the other guys on this site have better ideas!

Open the hood, take off the air cleaner, and take many pictures of the carb you have. Write any numbers you see on the carb. Post those here. Then we can find locally and send them to you. Maybe you will have to send a money order or something to cover the costs, but we are all Falcon people here and a few of us you can trust (some people I wonder about :NERVOUS:) -- but we must help. It is the prime directive!

Very nice explain but i'dont have origin carb at all.I drive on some small Solex
who is crap.All info about carb is that i need autolite 1100,weber 32/36 and some holley.all things what i have is VIN 5H01T244321,200 CUI,place for carb is with 2 screws,6 In line,autom. tranny 3 speed...etc.

Could i fix this carb on my 200;
Manufactured part no; 12 R-2795
From Comet 62 with 144 cui
1 bbl,diameter of hole is 36 mm?
I find this on e-buy this minute...

I looked at it and it's the one used on the 144 ci engine and I think is a bit on the small side for a 200 ci engine. But there were a few others on ebay as well. Keep looking...

Zoran-

Attached are some photos of two carburetors that will fit a 200 six.

The one on the left has an AUTOMATIC choke and is a HOLLY type. I just pulled this one off my '65 Falcon Wagon with a 200 six and it ran good. There is no tag number on it, but the numbers on the side of it are 7563-2241.

The one on the right has a MANUAL choke and is an AUTOLITE type. This is the same type as the brand new one that I just installed on my Wagon. The Ford Part No. on it is D0PF-9510. This is a 1970 Part no., but I'm sure the same basic carburetor was made in earlier years.

The other piece you see is a carburetor spacer plate that the carb sits on. Your heater hose is suppose to connect to this...although in later years this part was designed without the hose outlets probably due to the electolysis that build up on the metal...so you need this part too. You don't absolutely have to run your heater hose through the outlets---you can bypass them...but you must still use the spacer plates.

The important things to look at are the locations of the fuel inlet, linkage, and vacuum line---and hopefully they match up to your motor...or perhaps you can easily alter to fit. The locations are the same on these two carbs.

I hope this helps...I would consider shipping one to you, along with a rebuild kit...but the cost of shipping would probably be very high.

How much are costs for carb,rebuild set and shipping to me?Choice is on you who is better for my 200.Try to ask in post, please,if is not high my wife will not kill me this time!I have origin spacer,for me is not problem to fit carb or make some connections.All ready i change way of fuel line from pump to carb. Now line is on firewall(around engine) to avoid contact gas and ignition cables.
Manual choke is all ready fitted for actual carb.

I did a bit more checking on the carbs...the ones I posted photos of are model 1940 types that came later than the original carb (motorcraft 1100) that came on my Falcon.
