View Full Version : Monthly Club Meetings

I'm working out a schedule for monthly club meetings and currently I'm thinking a rotation of maybe 4 or 5 locations to allow more people freedom (OK, willingness) to attend. I'd like them to be on a weekday evening the same day every month and want to get a poll from everyone that reads this what day they would prefer and what time. So let's voice our opinions. I'd like to have this a done deal by the time November gets here. I'll let you indicate a good time in a post, but I'm thinking a 1 hour meeting that starts at either 6:30 or 7:00PM.

My ideas of locations are: Ballard, Lynnwood, Kirkland, Renton/South Center, Tacoma/Fife'ish

Actually John there have been 12 replies... in the form of a vote on the poll... and I've been in a few times to check things, so that's part of the 24. So, considering our actual membership (in the club, not the forum), we may have all of them having rung in. Almost selected to include who voted, but chose to keep it secret voting. Anyway, seems like it's going to be Wednesday so far. Democracy at work.

We currently have 26 paying members and many of them live out of town or out of state. I think 12 replies, in 2 days, by people that may actually show is pretty good. Some people only check in once a week.

Actually... you can select more than one day, so I voted for two days I would opt for. So it's not certain who and how many voted.

I probably will wait until all this election stuff is behind us before setting anything in stone anyway, but it would be nice to have some idea of the direction by then. As well as where, in the locations I mentioned, would be a good place people might know of -- pizza joints or restaurants. No place too loud.

Maybe Pat knows for sure but the forum may be set up so only paid chapter members can vote or view the results. One of the perks of membership!

... now I see on the bottom of the poll results, in the gray bar ,that it shows how many "voters" have chimed in, says 8 at this point. I don't believe that was there before. Is Pat working behind the scenes and granting our wishes?

Hmmmm?

"Boy, it sure would be nice if the forum would post tomorrow's winning Lotto numbers..."

Only paid members can see this thread. Anything posted in this forum is only viewable by paid members.

I did nothing. It was always there.

I check this thread all the time without logging in. You can't post to the poll logged out, but I was seeing it fine including the poll results. I too didn't see the number of posters. That's helpful. I didn't want to post it in that hidden forum section, because I want non-paying people to see it and perhaps come to a meeting as a observer.

I'll give this another week, but it's looking like Wednesday evening so far, which is my best day anyway. So let's start posting minimum times you can make it. I'm thinking one-hour meetings from 6:00-7:00 or 6:30-7:30 so we can all be home in time for Knight Rider (come on, I know you all watch it...)

I would say at least 6:30. The regular, monthly Sonoma County meetings always started at 7:00. It was at a pizza place so people could have dinner if they wanted.

Roger,
Any chance you are going to rotate the location to Spokane once a year maybe??;)

I know of a couple of good pizza joints here..

Ooh - 9 voted now!

Nathan, maybe we can meet you in Moses's lake, or is that Lake Moses, or maybe its the Red Sea. I don't rememver that either. I think we might be able to swing that once a year, assuming of course there's a blue moon and hell actually has frozen over at the same time. Otherwise we may have to wait until further notice or at least until 6 of one or half a dozen of another that can go as well.

I refer to it as Moses Hole the arm pit of washington..
Sorry if I offend any Moses lake people.

Yeah I didn't think so any how.. Maybe I'll make it over there again one of these days, this time I'll bring a falcon..

OK, I'm leaning towards the second or third Wednesday of the month, from 7PM to 8PM with the first one being the 12th or 19th of November. From this meeting we can decide whether to do monthly or bi-monthly, and choose locations. Which of these dates work best for everyone?

So, I think, in order to see more of us show up, the first meeting can be in the South Center area, which I assume for most of us will allow easy access and semi-central freeway access location. I know of a RoundTable pizza just off HWY 167. This is the address:

302 SW 43d, Renton, WA 98057

Any objections?

Right now either will work for me. It will be good to get back in the saddle!

Either date works for me. Southcenter is a jaunt but pizza will make it better. See ya.

Hey all.

It's pretty much settled that more thought the 19th of November was a better day -- so let's make that official. The location will be the Roundtable Pizza I noted above... and the time will be from 7PM to 8PM.

Kenny, since many may not read this can you arrange via this site to send an email to let everyone on the list the meeting date... unless it's Patrick that does this.

I can send out the email to all FalconForum subscribers. Can you shoot me an email (or PM) that I can copy/paste with all the details? Thanks!

Got it Roger...and it's been sent out. See you all there!

Hey Pat! I'm going to pick up Jeff on the way down. Do you want to carpool?

Sedanman
November 16th, 2008, 10:34 PM
I should be able to make this one - it's been a long time! I've also got something I've been wanting to donate for the next raffle that I'll bring. Which car I drive depends on the weather....

Thor -- It'll be good to see you there.

Hey, if anyone else has things they think would make good things to raffle off, this is one way we help pay (back) the bills we owe. I'm bringing a couple things as well. I don't want us to carry a deficit into the next year if we can help it.

Thanks!

Roger

I'll be bringing 5 t-shirts (XL) from the FCA Pacific Regional in Salem. And a pound of coffee for the caffeine addicts!

A whole pound, Kenny? We'll be up all night! :BIRTHDAY: If you still have it (I've been busy, sorry I haven't stopped by) please bring that book too - I'm almost done with the one I'm on and all of my stuff's in storage.

It's already on my "things to bring" pile! See you there!

I've been seeing the Round Table "Pepperoni Artisan" commercials and I haven't had pizza in awhile. Looks pretty tasty!!

As Homer says... Ummm Pizza (or was that Ummm Donuts) :D

Kenny, add to your pile a CD-ROM with the highest res logo you have, can you?

I see raffle tickets in the bin too and I've got a few things to raffle off.

Well, I guess this is what I get for not coming to the site in a while. Would've loved to have made the meet but unfortunately, I work M-F from 1:30PM to 10:00PM. I have weekends and holidays off.
