Does anyone know what the square things that are spot welded to the bottem of the lower A arms on our falcons, and most likely mustangs and other fords with those type of arms....thanks john h

John, Ford put those on there so when you are replacing your lower ball joints, you have something to catch on the back of your hand and draw blood... at least in my experience.

Though I'm sure most of us can tell you what we've used them for; i.e., drawing blood, and for me, I always use those as floor-jack tabs, I really have no clue what they're originally for other than for that. And they work good for that. Never had one break off while jacking a car.

I assumed they had something to do with hanging the part or assembly for the production line, painting, etc.

Maybe for shipping/tie downs?
