I have a 62 Futura that I'm having the engine rebuilt on. It's a 302 so it's not original to the car. And I'm not sure what color I should paint the engine. I'm leaning towards the Ford darker blue but haven't ruled out red or light blue. The car is a orangish red as well as the engine compartment. I'm a little undecided ( I can decide later) about the valve covers and air cleaner cover. There are chrome ones in there now but I kind of like the ribbed ones that say Falcon, powered by ford. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Dennis ( new member )

I'm not clear whether you are looking for the color appropriate for the year (which would not be blue) or what suits you. If it's a personal preference - blue is a Ford color, or would soon be.

I'm a personal fan of black blocks and gold valve covers, which was a Ford theme for their HiPo engines in the 60's. Black stays looking good longer and lets the ancillary items stand out on their own.
