While my radiator is at the shop getting a new core, I took advantage of all that room and installed my new horn. Kenny's pop had this in his garage for decades and was nice enough to give it to me. It is for a six volt system so I added a power resistor in series to knock the 12 volts down a bit. I had an Ooga horn in my 1958 Rambler for many years and it kind of became my trademark.
Now I need to find the issue in the wheel to get the relay working.
I blasted my special six blade fan and shot it with satin black (no red tips). It is my theory that Sears replaced the original four blade fan as part of the Air Conditioning installation.
Should all come together in time for next weekend's mini regional.
The radiator shop rebuilt my existing core but it exploded during the testing. He order a replacement core out of Canada and will use my original top and bottom tank halves on the new core so it will still carry the C3 date stamp and fit right in without modification to the support. Other new aftermarket radiators do not fit well for the six cylinder. Mustang is not a Falcon. My old one lasted 52 years. If I get another 52 out of this one... money well spent. Rebuild would have been $225, the re-core is $375.
