I live in Florida and have hard water, meaning that there is a lot of lime dissolved in the water. When I wash my black car the rinse water has to be dried with towels or it will leave white spots of lime that show up very plainly. It's a pain.
Well, a week and a half ago I had waxed my car with "Meguiar’s Gold Class clear coat liquid car wax". I had put on a thick coat and gave it time to halfway dry before buffing it off.
A bird left a present on my hood yesterday so I washed the car when I got home from work. Holy cow! The rinse water beaded so well that there was hardly any water left to dry with a towel. It was like the water had just formed one big bead and then completely ran off.
I was left standing there with towel in hand saying "Wow!". I was really impressed.
