Has anybody here swapped a 250 cubic inch inline six into a '64 Ford Falcon or a '65 for that matter?

I'm having so much trouble finding parts for the a simple clutch job for the 200 inline six that I'm ready to ditch it and swap the 250 because it uses the same clutch, pressure plate, clutch release fork, etc. etc. as the 260/289/302 motors and parts are far more plentiful than the smaller six.

So I'm wondering if anybody has done this swap using either and auto trans or a 3 speed top loader manual trans?

I intend to use the 3 speed top loader.

I will search google for info. on this swap but it would be nice to hear first hand reports from members who have done this swap.

I like the inline six, by the way, and that's why I won't go directly to a 302 or 289, as much as I like those motors, I really like the six and the fuel economy is nice too.

Thank you

Here's a really good link with lots of info on the swap. I don't have any experience doing it but I know the block is 1.6" taller and this can cause some clearance issues.
