Narrowed rearend

Anyone in the club have any experience in buying/installing a narrowed rear end in their Falcon? I pretty much have my car the way I want it but have always leaned towards tubbing it for the pro-street setup.

Not sure of the costs so if anyone knows information or where I can get a narrowed rearend for a decent cost let me know. Larry

There are a few options for you. What you see in the eBay add is a back-half setup with ladder bars or four link or other combination connecting the rear end to the chassis. There are pros and cons of each. Back halfing the car is major work. You'll loose your rear subframe, gas tank, rear seat, etc. Basically, everything between the quarters comes out and is rebuilt is a pair of new frame rails. Here is a link for just one option.

If you are looking for wider rubber then you might consider something less drastic. Look into a mini-tub setup with a coil over rear. This will get the leaf springs out and allow some wider rubber.

I saw a photo of someone's install where they even modded this kit to relocate the training arms inboard of the frame rails to get more rubber.

As far as the stance in the photo, i personally think the rear is too high. The 64-65 with the nose down stance looks good but that one was a bit too far.

If you go with the second one let me know, we'd at least have to powder that stuff yellow first...
As far as a narrowed rear axle, you can call Jantz engineering in Poulsbo. I've had several guys here take theirs to them and they do a very good job.
I agree with Patrick on the tubbing, it's a ton of work I thought about it but my budget ran dry so I skipped that step..

I had mini tubs in my first 64 hardtop and learned the hard way that the rear windows don't roll down all the way if the tubs are too tall! Just something to be aware of.
