roller lifters

Does anyone know if a roller lifter can be removed with out taking off the cyl. head? I did this motor in 99 and don't remember if I put the lifters in after the heads were on not. they are much taller than a flat tappet type...thanks..jh

You probably have about 1/2" more than a regular lifter to play with. Having just put in mine it's pretty fresh in my head. Though I didn't measure it. :confused:

It depends. OEM roller lifters will come out with heads in place but it is tight. Link-bar style lifters will not.
