Hello All,
I need to get insurance for the Comet (did I tell you I named her Haley?)
I've heard you guys mention a company but don't recall which one it was.
Thanks!

You can go through a few, I have mine through Hagerty, but there are a couple others as well. My Allstate guy got me set up with them.
There is also Grundy but I do not have any experience with them.

I use Grundy (6 years) and have been very happy with their dealings (though I have made no claims and can't vouch for that).

I use Hagerty and went directly to them. I have had no claims either, so only know the cost isn't very high for what I want coverage for. They'll want pictures, etc. And they require garaging it. Not sure if Grundy has similar requirements.

Grundy also requires garaging. But of course, I'd do that anyway.

I have more cars than garage space, so for instance I couldn't get collector car insurance for the Ranchero. Use my Pemco policy for it.

Over the past 2 1/2 years that I have had my car, it was insured by American Collector's. The policy came with a 2,500 miles per year limit. That was OK when the car was spending so much down time due to work on the engine, then the transmission, exhaust, brakes, electrical, carburetor, paint, etc., etc. etc. But, .. the car is running now and I want to drive it.
I called American Collector’s Insurance yesterday afternoon and asked about raising the mileage allotment to 5000. They asked the purpose of raising it. I said that I would like to drive it on vacation. They said that their coverage was not intended for that. It was intended to cover the car for driving it to car shows. I have been driving it to work five days a week for the past month and a half and I had to consider what would happen if I were to be in any kind of accident. "And what car show were you going to at 7:30 on a Wednesday morning, Mr. Pierson?"
"I called the company that covers my two "regular" cars and had them add the Falcon to the policy. They asked a few questions and e-mailed me a new insurance card.
My Falcon now has regular insurance and is officially a daily driver. :)
