Wikipedia says:
The Falcon was replaced by the Maverick.
The Maverick was replaced by the Fairmont.
The Fairmont was replaced by the Tempo.
The Tempo was replaced by the Contour.
The Contour was replaced by the .... Fusion.
The 2013 Fusion is a 5-passenger, 3,400 lb car that gets 26 mpg combined city and highway driving. It's standard engine is a 2.5 I4 that produces 175 bhp and 175 lb·ft of torque.
In 1980 I had a 1970 Maverick two-door with a 200 CI engine and a three-speed automatic. The Maverick was styled with a long hood and a short trunk. That put the majority of the car's weight up front and if you slammed on the brakes on a wet road, the back end of the car would want to swing in a circle around the front axle.
