Well been busy trying to sell my house here in Everett, and am purchasing one in Marysville that has has big yard for a shop. :banana:
Does anyone have any suggestions on size? Metal vs wood? Companies to deal with? The house wont close till the first week of Dec

The easiest and fastest would probably be a pole barn structure - then you could do the slab later, or poor sections at a time after the initial structure had been built, etc. These guys are out of Monroe.

At least 20x40 but id would prefer bigger..

It can never be too big. Mine is 24X50 then I added a 24X18 carport along side that, and thinking about adding to that as well.
My suggestion would be go as big as the budget allows. By the way mine is a pole barn that is insulated. Good Luck.

Steve you need more room for :sawzall: The yard is smaller than yours.
Im thinking about 24 by 30. the neighbors is big and he has a lift. (Gotta make friends with this guy. The houses havent closed yet :doh: Trying to get ideas.

I'd give anything for a bigger garage (not exactly taller) than mine. Mine is only 15 by 25, but it is over 12' high. Plenty of space to work on one car, but that's it.

Go as big as you can legally go. If you can afford it.

Built in heat would be good, cable tv, surround sound ect ect. Ooooh sunken oil pit.

The neighbor John is a retired diesel mechanic. His shop is pretty big. He has a lift! :banana: Only problem...... hes a Chevy guy! Was thinking about pulling he offer on the house........ lol Am thinking a bout a 24 by 30, thats about as big as my wife wants a shop encroaching her back yard. :NERVOUS:

24X30 you should be able to get 2 cars in there, but I would use it for part shop tools, ie: drill press, chop saw, oh yeah don't forget the sawzall:sawzall: It's nice to have a bit of room to put all the parts you take off the car while you work on it!!:D

There is only going to be 1 car in there at a time. Im thinking that should work, plus thinking of a small loft area. Access it by a attic ladder. One of my buddies did that , and it saved a lot of space
