I have a brand new in the box clutch set from falconparts.com. part number 07-008 listed as fitting 1960 to 1965 144/170 ci engines. Not sure about the 200, maybe?

I no longer have any 6 cylinder falcons and don't see the point in keeping it anymore.
It sold originally for $154 years ago.. asking $100 plus shipping from spokane.

PM if interested..

Nathan,

If that's the 8.5" set, it'll fit a 200 if they have a manual tranny. I've yet to see the elusive 9" setup, but it was apparently a 66 and newer with the 3.03 3-speed.

Both mine use the 8.5" so I might consider getting it from you to keep as a spare. Chances are when I need one again (both of mine are new now) they'll no longer be available. :NERVOUS:

Mr. Bond
It is an 8.5 clutch set. Surprisingly falcon parts hasn't raised the price on it since I got it.
I held on to it as spare just in case I ever needed it.
Cleaning out the garage and eliminating the 6 cylinder stuff.
I can deliver the part in February if you want to save on shipping.
I'll even take trades.
I'm looking for a sbf flywheel 28 oz 157 tooth. New or used
Also looking for a zbar for a v8, I have a 6 that I was thinking of cutting.
Clutch set for a t5 but I need to research that.
A 15x2 oval aluminum split finned air cleaner or a 14" round split finned
Got find something to match my valve covers

Just some options if you have any of those old parts laying around

Nathan,

I don't have any of those things, sorry to say. Gene might want to count the teeth on that flywheel he has in his garage, which we are trying to determine what it is for. Do you know the Ford part number for the flywheel you need? (Gene, can you post the part number of the flywheel you have, so we can Google it?)

As for "need" of this, I don't really need it anytime soon, so if you plan to be in the neighborhood anytime in the next year, then sure, bring it with.

Roger,
I'll be in your neighborhood kinda (shelton) Monday through Friday, february 27 till may 10.
I don't know the part number off the top of my head but the earlier the better. So a c5de number I imagine.. though a d0through9 number will also work.. as long as its the small flywheel. 157 tooth..

So we can arrange something when ever..

I think Gene's was "big" - too big for his setup. He used the words "from a truck" and "going to make it into scrap steel."

:D

I'm more like, "Hey, it might be that ultra rare flywheel made from unobtanium. We should research it before we melt it into a Toyota."

He agreed.

Roger,
Well if gene would be nice enough to post the ford part number I'll double check it.
I've done the same thing with bell housings.. I was one letter off and came home with a sbf truck bell that is too big for the falcon trans tunnel. So it got shipped to china to be recycled into a chevy part.

I already have the ultra rare 5 bolt bell. Working on getting the t5, just need some of the small pieces.. clutch kit I can get at o'reillys or where ever.. the flywheels are on ebay just want a lesser expensive option, trans crossmember I'll probably fab myself.. that only leaves the bell to trans adapter, and zbar, shifter, drive shaft mod.. Ohman what did I get myself into?

I hear ya. That's why when I do my V8 swap, it will be to an automatic. The thought of trying to track down all the exactly right parts, without taking out a loan, doesn't thrill me. Floor shifter options, for an automatic, abound. And I already have the single brake pedal ready to go.

;)

I don't know of any 5 bolt over drive automatics so I'm going the manual route as I have the bell housing block plate and fork I need. I picked up the pedal assembly and 6 cylinder clutch parts. Zbar and etc..
The wonderful fordomatic works but it needs to be rebuilt. I want that over drive to make freeway cruising nice..

2.79 rear gear ratio. Makes for nice freeway cruising.

Imagine your cruising ability with a .63 overdrive gear? 100 mph at 2100 rpms :shift:
I have 3.25 I think. Maybe 3.50 what ever was stock in a 63.5 sprint.

I figured out my clutch needs, working on finding flywheel numbers..
So far I found two 64 specific part numbers for flywheels.. I hope I don't need a special flywheel. I just wanted to use the standard 157 tooth unit.
The part numbers I do have are
C3oe-6380 and c4ae-6380

Imagine you're cruising... 100 mph....

in a Falcon with stock suspension?

Can anyone say "white knuckle?"

I do recall trying to read the numbers on the flywheel Gene has and it started with C5... so it's probably not the one you'll want.

Roger,
If what I read on the mustang forums and confirmed on ford muscle forums is that originally the 63 260s would have the c3oe number the 64.5 mustang till the 6 bolt block change have the c4ae number. Those two part numbers were 160 tooth?!? Sometime in 66 ford changed the tooth count to 157 as it made the teeth stronger. What I didn't know and was worried about is if I needed the c3oe or c4ae flywheel. What I have confirmed is I need a flywheel that has 157 teeth no matter what the year was, as long as its 28 oz.
So a c5ae-6380 might work if its a 157 tooth.
I think c5te is a truck application and is larger 164 tooth.

Talked to Gene today and he said the flywheel he has is for a 240 Big Six. So that one's not gonna work.

Probably not.

I can find 302 truck flywheels all day long 67 on up at the local recycler.
There's never a manual trans car to be found.. well maybe 80s 4 banger stuff but you knew what I meant.

I'll keep looking, I'll bring you the clutch kit in march as the first week I'm over there I'll be super busy.

My research (Google) did come up as a 240ci I6 and I took it a the recycle bin today, as I was tired of moving it back & forth trying to get in my box of bolts all the time. I imagine it's on it's way to a furnace somewhere very soon.

After doing boocoo research I think I made myself 100% confused.

I stumbled across an internet thread claiming ford 260 were a 26.2 oz imbalance.
So I researched some more... and according to Bob Mannel and Des Hammill from the fairlaner magazine Jaan/Feb 2008 issue;
Not only did the 1964 260 have a 26.2 imbalance, but the 1962 to 1963 260 had a 24.5 imbalance. The 63 to 68 289 had the 28.2 imbalance...

So needless to say it looks like what ever flywheel I use I better use the matching balancer other wise I'll be off balance...

Good reading for those playing with v8s
