Brought home the 65 and here it is fresh out of the trailer. Spent 3 hrs Sunday and it runs, drives, and everything works but the wipers so far. Now to put the fender back on???

200 6 cyl. 3 speed auto. Good floors, no rust except the missing part. So far so good...

Steve Im wondering if you are suffering from FDD (Falcon Deficit Disorder)
:ROTFLMAO: Looks like you have a good start there. The things we do to get away from bodywork :ROTFLMAO: Have fun buddy, and keep the sawzall away from it. :rocker:

Have not found the right van yet. This car kind of fell in my lap. I went to a swap meet in Bremerton to promote the business and of course to sell some parts I had. A guy came and bought some 65 bumper brackets I had and told me about the car. I asked what he wanted to sell it for and I was told basically to come and get it out of his yard. The only hiccup is no title yet. His friend has it and he is calling to get it from him. I also have a friend in the sheriffs dept. over here who has helped me with title work before so not a big deal as far as the paper work.
I will however need to bring out the sawzall and grinder to get the rear fender put back together but she is way to solid to chop up. We will see what happens after that.:D

Uh - Steve... it's missing something back there. Did that come supplied in the bed somewhere?

Is it going to be black too?

doghows
November 17th, 2011, 02:57 PM
It did come supplied with that, 2 front fenders, a new headliner, and a fiberglass bed cover.
Not sure what is going to happen with this one. Maybe a readers build like they do on the home improvement show?? Nahhh I can't afford that.:p

If you make it they will buy it????

With Falcon owners it's "If you make it cheap enough they will buy it!"

No kidding. Make it out of Paper-mâché to keep costs down.

Well Steve, if you can't find a van you probably have enough parts laying around to make somethning like this.

Thank just ain't right....

I don't think it's so bad. You would likely need to put it on some sort of frame... say a Ford Explorer or long bed F150. Maybe take a few inches off the back like the Australian Wagon and Ranchero.

Start with a door 4 door wagon and the hard work is already done for you.

You would have the only one on your block.

Kenny, Photoshop one up for us, we will get Steve and Roger's juices flowing here.

My juices are sort of frozen at the moment. And they're not from concentrate.

But yeah, seems a no brainer.

My juices are clogged up now. Not only did I bring a 65 Home, I brought a 62 home Saturday???? What is happening:WHATTHE: Have I contracted some sort of disease?? I guess it is better this than spend it at the casino...:o

I did miss something. You do have a disease.

As long as you get more than you pay for them - they are better than a casino.

Pictures?

I will get some pics of the 62. It was on Craig's list for a long time, and the guy was moving and wanted it gone so I got a good deal. It is a 62 but has all the V-8 conversion done. 289, c-4, 8" rear with 3:08 gears and a posi. Power steering, and very little rust. Just around the rear fender lips. Floors have been replaced, and the rest is in good shape. Just go back from the DMV, 15 minutes from in the door to out the door. Go to love the small towns for that.
Anyway I have some crazy idea for the 65 but that is secret for now. As far as the 62, I think this one is a keeper for a while...

Here is a couple of pics of the twins. Got the quarter panel on the 65 so I just need to put the bumper and light back on and she is a driver. The 62 has new exhaust on but needs the header gasket replaced. Spent all weekend framing out for sidewalks around the house, so no work on the cars. Damn that honey do list!!!:bicker:
Sorry for the crapy pics. It was still dark when I left for work this AM.

Thanks Roger. I will get some good ones this weekend. I have to pour concrete on Friday so hopefully Sat. and Sun. I will work on the 62 and start driving it to work.[thumb]

I did it mainly to see if the 62 is the one I thought it was. This was the one where the guy said something about serious inquiries only - no looky-lu's (or something to that effect) on his Craigslist ad. Right? I was waiting for it to show up and the Pick-n-Pull like a couple of the other Falcons I've seen there lately.

Concrete pour? Yuck. I'd rather do body-work... indoors. :ROTFLMAO:

:D

Yes that was the one. The guy moved to Florida and I picked it up for well under $1000. It actually is a clean little car. The root beer brown paint really shines back up with little work. The motor runs very strong just loud with the header leak. Needs an alignment and tires. I will get some good pics up next monday after I work on it a little bit.
Basically it has all the 65 Mustang running gear in it. 289, C-4, 8" rear with posi. P/S,and all the 5 lug gear to go with it. Interior is all stock. Needs carpet. Have all the chrome trim and then some.
This I think will be my driver until the delivery is up and going. It should go to paint next week. Hopefully I have bought sold and trade enough stuff to finish the delivery. I will cut a few corners but it will all be stuff I can bolt on later...:o (fingers crossed)

Yeah - I was tempted to go have a look at it myself - just for curiosity sakes. But the ad sort of put me off. Anyway, you got a smokin' deal. Hopefully it was assembled correctly and will be a safe/sane driver for you.

If you have a shop with 3 bays you need 3 Falcons? My wife wil only let me have a 1 car garage now :ROTFLMAO:

doghows
December 6th, 2011, 08:06 AM
Funny you would say that. I have the 63 delivery, 62 Ranchero, and the 65 Ranchero now?? To the side of the shop is a 65 parts car, and I just towed away the remnants of the 61 wagon that got used up for parts.
Be careful what you wish for, having 5 acres give you plenty of room to put stuff. Sometimes to much stuff.
The part you don't see is the 2 car garage next to the house. It has the wife 61 metropolitan in it and her daily driver. I'm thinking another oversized garage for me just to work on a project. Everything gets so dirty in the big shop??

You can have a 1-car garage and live on a hill with two very steep driveways and still have too many cars. Nothing should hold you back from fulfilling your dreams of redneckdome.
