I have a 65 two door hard top. Im looking to put some new wheels and tires on her. There is not a lot of room in the fender wells. I was wonder what every one else has back there. I would like to go with an american racing 5 spoke but it seems like the offset puts the wheel to far out and it will rub on the inner fender. Wondering if any one else has had problems with the rear tires rubbing the inner fenders

I'm running 205-60-15 at the rear of my 62. I have American Racing Tork Thrust 2 wheels in 15x6. I don't remember the back spacing but 3 3/8" comes to mind. I also have a rear end that is 1" shorter than stock.
You should have more room for tires on a 64-65.

Patrick - you also shaved the underside lip off of yours too, IIRC. Would your tires clear if you still had that full pinch-welded lip?

I'm running 245/45/17 on late model Bullitt rims with one inch bolt on spacers. When I load the trunk or have passengers I get some rub. I'm swapping to 3/4" spacers for more clearance.

I tried 225s on the rear and they rubbed on right had turns :bicker:. Anyway, rather than roll the lip or modify anything else I opted for 15x7 American Racing 100-S with BFG 205/60R all the way around. As you can see in the pictures (link in signature) I can run them Rallye low or up a few inches for the old school rake, since I have air shocks.[thumb]
