After 6 months of serious searching, I finally scored a 4 lug 8" from a 1972 Maverick to go into my wagon:banana:

This guy has the 2.79:1 ratio

Many, many thanks to Kenny and Brian for helping me get that guy off the car and into the back of my van.

We ran into one small snag... I keep my 1/2" sockets on an index - each socket has it's own peg: full index = full set.

Imagine my surprise when I didn't have the needed 11/16" socket for my 1/2" drive breaker bar. The index was full, but there were TWO 5/8" sockets:doh: - It took us two hours to get the eight nuts off the rusty U-Bolts. We were so hot and thirsty by the time we left that Brian drank a 58 ounce "Giant Gulp" of Dr Pepper on the way home- no joke! 58 ounces![BOW]

58 ounces! Well, at least it was Dr. Pepper. [thumb]

I know Kenny shortened his, but I didn't have to on my wagon when I put mine in. I know I won't need to on the Flare-chero (but t was an 8" 5-lug out of a Falcon), but it would be interesting to hear whether you have to or not.

New driveline now too. Maybe, if you get there at about the same time I do, we can get a 2-fer deal with Drivelines NW.

I have that low mile (74K) 200CI with C4 I bought last fall out of a '65 Wagon. Hear it run and drove it up/down the driveway before he yanked it ($175)

I'm afraid it will be next spring before I drop the new driveline in as I have exhausted my budget and allowed free time just getting the body to where it is.

Please let me know what you find out on your 63 rear emnd. Kenny narrowed his by something like 3/8" each side... If I didn't have to spend the $100 plus to do that, it would be swell. I can put that $ toward the 2 barrel Weber and adapter.

I did grab that driveshaft from the Maverick... ($11.19) and it had a C4. I think I can use those yokes on both ends and just have them cut/weld to the correct length.

I know it sounds like I'm cheap... but I am.:rocker:

Correction: it was NOT two 5/8" sockets - it was one 5/8" and one 19/32"... who ever heard of a 19/32?

Even though it is a Craftsman Brand... it doesn't quite match the rest of my set. Where did this come from and where is my missing 11/16"?

I have (I think I have one too, but yeah, can't say I've ever needed it). But it is between the 9/16 and 5/8, so the 11/16 must still be at Sears waiting for you.

I did get the spare tire holder bracket, rod, washer, and nut from it. I was tempted to get the radio too, but I was afraid. :NERVOUS:
