OK looked at the car this morning and was surprised to see a very nice 64. Very clean, and body very straight. Ed and I checked out as best we could and the body is rust free and seems to be very little or no bondo?? That or some one did a very good job. Car has lots of need goodies with it and very clean looking 302.
I even stuck my hand up in the drivers vent and the cowl area was clean and solid. Seat look in good shape, rear has new upholstery, new headliner 3/4 of the way installed. All glass looked good no scratching or chips.
The bad: The tunnel for the drive shaft has been modified a bit for the shifter, not bad easily repairable. I think if you look close at the floor pictures there are some small holes in the floor pans. Not from rust? almost like some one poked some nail through?? Again easy fix. Other than that the floors are solid and rust free. Has 9" rear axle and maverick front suspension and power steering.
I think if Nathan doesn't buy this car I will. Very solid car to fix up. Hope this helps you decision Nathan, here a few more pics as well as the ones I sent to your phone. Let me know if you work out a deal and if needed I can go over with trailer and fetch it till you can come get it.

It's always interesting to see what other people do... and how they go about it.
"Dog Catcher" - very appropriate, but probably speed-bump catcher too. Was that a center-pull e-brake handle I saw?

Yeah, the P/O cut out the center hump for a Hurst shifter and some other type of center e-brake. Pretty amateur work. There's a couple of slices in the floor pan that don't seem to have a reason, and the aft mount for the transmission has a really crappy welding job on it. Not much rust under it, though, and the body is really solid.
The body panels are very straight, and it's a good looking shell. Steve took an immediate liking to it, so if Nathan doesn't want it I fear for his home life.
Everything underneath seems to be Maverick parts, for what that's worth.
See the condition of the bolts in the motor? It's been sitting like that for some years,
and it looks like it wasn't run before that, so... Good parts, though.

Sounds like Nathan's Financial Officer put the stops on this project. Anybody else in the club interested?

My brother-in-law has always wanted one of these - any clue what the guy was asking?

He said he was offering it for $2900.. Possibly he'd take less.

I think if I was going to try and buy this one, I would start in the $2000-$2200 range. The seller said he had $2900 into the car. The biggest issue I thought was the wiring. Lots of it hanging under the dash?? Bunch of it in the engine bay as well.. Cross member was a little goofy?? But a real solid and straight car.
I am sure it will find a good home, my wife already said NO!!!!!:D

Yep my wife said no.
So I passed it on to a friend. My friend offered $2500 and the seller said no.
He ain't budging from the $2900. Too bad.
I see he reposted it on cl with pisctures this time so it might actually sell.
I decided to put the money into my 63 and some into the 61. The rest went to paying down my truck. Going to have student loans to repay soon. So the fewer bills the better.

So, that means the 260 project will go forward faster?
I'm watching that one with great interest, as I'm looking to do a T-5 and V-8 to the '63 pretty soon.

Shh don't tell the c.f.o. but I'm planning on spending a little here and a little there and hopefully I'll have the 260 finished by late summer.
The plan is to stick the 260 in the 61 that already has the t5..:shift:
Not sure how well a svo t5 will hold up behind the extra torque but I'll just take it easy.:BIRTHDAY:
So if anyone wants to help my science expierment along please contribute parts and a generous discount when I ask for help.
I know I'll be needing a set of v8 motor mounts, intake, small cfm 4 brl carb, oil pan, timing cover, distributor, the list goes on...
I'm trying to hit up swap meets junkyards cl and ebay for as much as possible.
I might have gotten the pistons I need so I'll be able to make some progress soon.
Not sure if I mentioned by 260 build here or not but I'm building a stroked 260.

I think I read that in TFFN. Sounds like a hoot.
Seems like a world-class T-5 should work for me -
I'm not going to drag race or anything. I was thinking a bell
housing might be hard to come by.

Lost the ebay auction for the pistons.
I forgot the auction ended Saturday morning and went to the junkyard instead of sitting behind a computer.
The junkyard did have a 63 falcon in it. So I yanked the clutch stuff including the pedal assembly.
If anyone needs a passenger fender or back doors this car had them.
There was also a 65 fairlane with a 289 and a c4. The motor was complete carb to pan. Fan to rear if anyone is looking to swap a 6 to an 8 this car.
I have one five bolt bell for the 260 in either the sprint or the stroker motor for the futura.
I want two. I plan on swapping the sprint from 2sp auto to 5sp manual.

Nathan, I have a t-5 for my svo motor in my 51 ford truck, and I think the input shaft is shorter than a t-5 for a V8, not sure about the input shaft splines, they may be different too, will do some more checking....john h

Guess I better do some research.
The slines are the same that I know.. the shaft diameter may vary, not an issue if I can find a clutch that works. The shaft length means I have to make a custom bell adapter. Which just makes the v8 swap more difficult.
