I am planning on putting the pertronix ignition in my 60 falcon, with a msd cdi box to get a nice hot spark. but what i wanted to know is, where is the ballast resitance wire located in the harness. I know its hidden somewhere....but i couldnt see the resistance wire anywhere. with the aftermarket ignition the recomend full voltage to the coil, msd box, and the pertronix module.
thanks jeff spalding

The wire you refer to is the pink resistance wire. It is under the dash. It is the same wire that connects to the plus side of your coil now but it is a different color under the hood.
You should bypass or replace the pink wire to energize your Pertronix Ignitor and MSD box. They really need the full 12V.

It's not as bad as you think. Pull the ignition switch out and you can just disconnect the wire from the back. Attach a new wire and route it through a hole in the firewall. Be sure to use a gromit.
