200 six block wanted

A friend of a friend threw a rod in her Ranchero and needs a new block. I told her I'd ask around for a decent 200 or possibly a 170. Preferably running good when last used.

Somewhere in the Seattle area or burbs. If you have one let me know!

I just bought a 200 for my car so within the next week or two I will be replacing my 170 and three speed. I would be willing to sell them for pretty cheap seeing as there is little demand for a 170. The engine has 110,000 miles on it but was rebuilt approximately 40,000 miles ago. It runs good and the only reason I am replacing it is because I am putting in a C4.

Thanks Dalton. I'll let them know and get back to you. Sounds like a good engine and she won't have to mess with putting her old cylinder head on.

I have a 170 that is complete from carb to oil pan... it's a little tired, but it runs, doesnt burn oil and I'd give it to who ever needs it..

If you need that timing cover it will be a little less complete...

Thanks Nathan. I gave her Dalton's info and also found a 200 on Craigslist from a 1980 Comet. I'll let you know if those don't work out.

She can come up and hear the engine running if she visits within a few days, otherwise im going to pull it out and replace it.
