Hello folks,
Looking for some possible ideas on fixes..
On my 61 futura the turn signals just quit working.. out of the blue they just stopped..
Here's where it gets interesting..
They stopped working at idle.. if I increase engine rpm they start working.. until the rpms drop again..
I've checked the fuse. replaced the flasher and all bulbs..
I checked the power at the fuse and this is where it gets wierder.
The power flashes.. used test light will check with volt meter later..
my test light goes dim to bright to dim like it was flashing with the flasher..
I pull the flasher out and it still flashes..
Turn the car off and check again.. thinking generater is pulsing.. with engine stopped it still flashes..
I'd like to get this fixed any ideas?

Nathan,

If I had a guess I could venture, the key, I think, was everything worked when the RPM's increased, which means higher voltage and current. Test light doesn't show voltage, so check the voltage. Maybe even swap a battery from one of you many other Falcons to see if you have a battery going on the fritz. That's all I can muster at the moment.

Turns out that i had a voltage drop at the back of the ignition switch. the ring terminal that supplied power to the turnsignals was rusty. i replaced the ignition switch and cleaned the ring terminal and all is well now..

That was going to be my second guess. :p
