Yes but they will be close to the fenders and quarters.
Leaves you narrow tire choises..
I'm thinking no wider than a P205/60r15 on the front and rear..
For a non lowered car..
just a guess on the tire size..

I'm running 15x6 all the way around with 3 3/8 back spacing is I remember right. I have 195-60-15 front and 205-60-15 rear.
I do plan to try to get more rubber at the rear one day.
Mine is a 62. The tire fitment on a 65 is different. Hopefully more will speak up. I don't think you'll have too much trouble with the 7".

I have 14 x 7 in the back on my '65, but can't remember the backspacing. I'll go measure if no one else knows for sure. I have 235-60x14's on the back and it has appx 3/4" clearance inside and out.

Tomorrow I'll pull a wheel and measure to refresh my memory. I'll post it here.

I suppose so... thanks. And if I ever figure out what that count is, I'll be sure to let everyone know.

I let you down for now. I went out to pull a back wheel this AM. However, there's a problem. I can't find my key for the wheel locks. I know it's there and will continue to look (obviously), as I NEED it. When I stumble across it, i'll measure and let you know what I have for B/S'ing. Sorry!

Thanks for advice. Here is a pic of my project. Had to cut off a hitch the other owner put on, it rasie the back up about two inches. The hitch weight about 75 lbs! was made out of 1/2 stock! what do you think about US slot wheels?

I like the slot wheeks too. I decided to go with the magnums because they seem more period correct to me. I was very torn. I also like the torq thrust wheels a lot. Actually, there aren't too many after-market type wheels I don't like and even some other optional whells from many manufacturers I like.
Your Ranchero is a very nice looking machine. Is it a survivor car or has it been restored. It looks very clean.

Bighead, I still can't find the key to my wheel locks (don't know what I'll do about that), but I called the dealer who sold me my wheels, and he says that the wheels I bought for the rear are 4 1/4" backspacing. As I said before, they are 14 x 7 and I currently have 3/4" clearance inside and out. I'm sure you could also use 15" wheels if you want the extra height and accompanying gear ratio change. Hope this answers your question. If you are a local, consider joining us at one of our meetings, tech days, or get-togethers. Good luck.

Bighead,
What are you planning on doing with the wheels that are currently on your ranchero?
